Watersongs

There are now 5 CDs to choose from. All of the music is written and composed by me, Mj Wicker. As you listen to the music you will hear the many influences imbedded in the various songs noticing that there is a commonality that joins all of the styles of music. That being, that all of the music tell stories, many different stories about people, places and experiences. I learned early on in my song writing career that most of the successful songs written tell who, when, where and what in the first few lines. They use the words of their song like the many different colors you might see in a painting to present a clear picture that either makes you happy, motivated, intrigued, concerned, moved, sad or possibly teary eyed. I don't think that a songwriter can get a better compliment than when someone approaches you and is extreamly affected by the words of your music. This has happened to me several times and I am always humbled and feel incredibly blessed by what God does through me each time it occurs. Just a couple weeks ago, I had a rather large man approach me, shake my hand, hug me, with tears in his eyes and with a broken voice, he told me how a song from my Christian CD (available on itunes and TMG Records) entittled, 'THANK YOU', had moved him and touched his heart in rememberance of his son. In the song I pay tribute to our military men and women. He told me he had lost his son, a young Marine, in Afganistan. As a prior Marine myself and totally touched by his broken heart, I began to cry with him. I think, sometimes, that should be the purpose of writing... to move people to feel, to love, to joy, to anger, to cry, to laugh, to act (hopefully in a positive manner).. The world is changing so rapidly and music sometimes is the only thing that slows it down, just long enough for you to express yourself and show emotion.
