1930年ハンガリー系のアメリカ人としてシカゴに生まれ、1950年のベティ･グレイブル主演の映画｢My Blue Heaven｣で銀幕デビューを飾った女優のミッチ･ゲイナー。抜群の美貌はもちろん、歌よし踊りよし、演技力もコメディからシリアスまで抜群、そして持ち前のキュートなキャラクターで米国大衆を魅了しました。これは1958年、ピート･キングのオーケストラで、ハリウッドで録音した彼女の代表作(Verve MGV-6014)。まさに天性の素質としかいいようのない気品漂うジャジーな歌がたっぷりと聞くことができます。 (jazzyell110号より）
