今年の夏、ロンドンのO2アリーナで開催されるはずだった彼のコンサート”THIS IS IT”。 本作は2009年4月から6月までの時間の流れを追いつつ、百時間以上にも及ぶリハーサルと舞台裏の貴重な映像から構成されている。
幻となったロンドン公演の監督を務めていたケニー・オルテガが映画も監督し、2週間限定で全世界同時公開された(11月27日まで延長）。
