彼女は、2010年のデビューCD ”Coming In From The Dark”によって、母国のデンマークだけでなく、お隣のスウェーデン、フィンランドやドイツで一躍有名になったようだ。今回のCDは、ジャズスタンダードと彼女のオリジナル5曲から構成されており、彼女の歌と柔らかな音色のトランペト、豊かで素朴なピアノタッチが絶妙のバランスを保っている。北欧ジャズ好きの方にはお薦めです。

This is a wonderfull Debut Album from a very very talented jazzsinger and songwriter. I have heard Mette Juul live 3 times and she is really a great singer and performer, her voice is full of heartfelt presence and great energi. Finally it is possible to buy a CD with her, and Im not disapointed. The band is wonderfull, some of the best danish jazzmusicians ever, Alex Riel trio and Mette Juul is a very good match and guest Palle Mikkelborg is outstanding. I would have loved to hear Poul Halberg more, the duo tune I Wish You Love is very beautiful. I like that the CD is a mixture between Mettes own songs and jazzstandards. I can recommend Mette Juul Live and also her debutalbum COMING IN FROM THE DARK most highly.
