ドイツの新しいレーベルの第1弾発売だが、真に不思議なことに録音スタジオ、エンジニアの記載があるのに日付がない。このルーマニアのカルテットがハンブルクのコンクールに出た際にＮＤＲが収録したとＨＭＶは推測して2009年？と紹介文に書いているが、そうすると少し前の彼らの姿ということになりそうだ。それはともかく演奏は清新で優れたものだ。4人の技術が完全に均衡であり、表現にもくせがない。メンデルスゾーンはイブラギモヴァ率いるキアロスクーロがあったが、このアルカディアのほうが断然いい。ブラームスもこのカルテットの内声の充実がものをいっており、聴きごたえのある演奏になっている。
