NYC saxophonist Matt Garrison joins an all-star cast of young virtuosos as they explore the songs he has written for his loved ones, appropriately titled Blood Songs. Joining Matt are drummer Ulysses Owens, bassist Dezron Douglas and pianist Roy Assaf. Brass giants Greg Gisbert and Michael Dease fill out the band on selected numbers, and a special appearance by tenor saxophonist Eric Alexander heats up the session with a spectacular tenor battle on Garrison's take of Hot House called Interrupted.
