Universal Truths

The music on Mark Sowlakis' Universal Truths is totally original and unique. All facets of the music were done by Mark Sowlakis, including the compositions, the engineering, the mixing and the mastering. The music features the unique talents of jazz masters Perry Robinson on clarinet, George Young on tenor saxophone, Phil Grenadier on trumpet, and flutist Evan Francis, among others. Solo improvisations, duet and trio forms, and one band track comprise the majority of the recording. At times highly improvisational, featuring experimental sounds including church bells and singing wine glasses, this recording is a statement that reflects Sowlakis' musical vision to strive for new and unusual combinations and textures to create new music. While still maintaining a link to past traditions, Universal Truths forges ahead with a totally personal statement unlike Sowlakis' previous work.
