Luther Monday was born in Chicago, and grew up rocking in Oakland, CA. The beneficiary of his parents immense, comprehensive, eclectic record collection, Luther was exposed to artists ranging from from Sly and the Family Stone, to The Rolling Stones, to Dave Brubeck. Luther Monday's sound is unique, yet at times reminiscent of a funkier, electric time, when there were more pillow fights and cooler sunglasses. 'The music and the lyrics BOTH moved me around.
