Pop music is nothing if not cyclical; while angry young rock girls a ala Alanis were all the rage in the mid-'90s, the end of that decade saw the rise of teen-poppers like Britney et al. Lucy Woodward's debut album arrives at the vanguard of yet another sea change heralded by Avril Lavigne, back towards a tougher rock sound for young pop sirens. Accordingly, the bulk of WHILE YOU CAN is given over to punchy pop-rock that's filled with both sparkling hooks and blazing guitar riffs (see "Gettin' it On," "Trust Me (You Don't Wanna See This)," and the title track. That's not the only card in Woodward's deck though. The widescreen chorus of "Always Something," even though it's filled with billowing electric guitars, seems like it could have come from a contemporaneous Faith Hill or Shania Twain album, and "Blindsided" delves into angular R&B. Woodward's previous life as a session vocalist prepared her with pipes aplenty to jump into whatever musical bag she wants, and that's just what she does.

Stacie Orricoの“(there’s gotta be)More To Life”が大好きで原曲が聞きたくて買いました。思ってたより曲の感じが違っていて良かったと思います。けどそれ以外は似たり寄ったりでインパクトが無いと思いました。
