Final Touch

Faced with the daunting task of following up their now legendary self-titled first album Love Song, the group went back in the studio with no preconceptions, other than to do something different on Final Touch, their second and last studio album of the '70s. There were a number of songs already written that were not a fit for the first album, and along with newer songs, they began recording. They decided on two significant creative differences from the first album. They were open to fading out tracks, something they had not done on the first album, where each song ended as it would if played live. The second difference was that they decided to add additional sweetening where it would make sense, such as strings, horns, etc. The result was this second, more eclectic effort, aptly called Final Touch. This album has less of a concept feel, but added latitude for the group to explore the recording process in a more creative way. It produced the now classic songs, Little Pilgrim and Since I Opened Up The Door.
