'Ultra MK' is the sophomore release from NYC band Loudboy. The brainchild of NYC based guitarist John 'Loudboy' Andrews (Peter Murphy, Nena, Botanica) the band has been re invigorated, re energized and re invented by the addition of drummer Brian Viglione (drummer of The Dresden Dolls and The Violent Femmes) Brian's brilliantly aggressive and musical drumming adds the perfect balance to Andrews lead guitar sonic acrobatics and lush and aggressive singing and songwriting. Alongside with bassist Jason Binnick the three have recorded 13 songs that put the danger back into rock & roll and take listeners back to a time not so long ago when rock & roll was aggressive, guitar driven and not afraid of being cool enough for the oh so hipster world of today. These are songs that deal with the pain of trying to relate to an unsympathetic, spastic society that gets smaller and smaller while at the same time becoming less and less personal and more and more alienating. In a time when it's hard to believe in anything Loudboy 'Ultra MK' is truly the perfect soundtrack for the end of everything.
