Light Thieves' Spirit Homes is a pacing, cosmic colored pulse laced with ambient interludes and tempo changes not for the faint of heart. Joel Melton's distorted shoegaze pedal work complements Mike Adame's spacey synth in the way My Bloody Valentine might work with Broadcast in a jam session. Check Out, Switch On and Most Common Themes are prime examples of the electric nature of their trading chordal cascades for each other's wails. At the core of it's driving tempo and intricate rhythms are Erica Salazar on bass and Kaleb Saldate (Actress) on drums. Erica holds down fuzz fueled bass lines that grip tight to Kaleb's beat, rooting songs like Crystal Maps to a heavy motive. Throughout the record, Kaleb's phrasing is something like a secret ingredient- distinctly unique, multi-layered, and powerfully constant.
