After 20 years of indie music production, Collins has come up with an emotionally driven album that blends rock, acoustic, electro, reggae, and even a little jazz, the whole wrapped in a tapestry of emotionally driven lyrics that will leave few people untouched. Topics range from financial scandals (the fall, I won't pay), to deeply personal journeys (Higher, Last Goodbye) and the album's emotional center piece, Little Monster Man, a letter to his recently deceased father. Having tried many of these songs on the road over the last few years, Collins and his band were able to use the feedback from the thousands of people they played for (over 100 shows a year) to hone the arrangements and infuse the energy that they bring to their live shows into Acoustronika.
