ピアノ・ソナタの4番、5番、6番が収められていますが、特に6番のソナタは、アムランのカプースチン・アルバムにも収録され、人気の出た作品です。ここでのカプースチン本人の演奏と聞き比べて見るのも一興かもしれません。
　ソナタ4番＆5番は、モダンでクールな印象が特徴。少しジャズの陽気な要素が影をひそめ、現代音楽的な透明でひんやりしたサウンドを感じられるかもしれません。
　新発売の楽譜に収められる予定の「アンダンテ op.58」と「10のバガテル op.59」も収録されています。op.58は、OVCT00026に収録されたものとは別テイクで、テンポもかなり違っています。

This recording of Kapustin is outstanding! You can tell that playing his own works shows passion, wit, agitation, charm, paitience, and perfect discipline to hear the soul of these dynamic compositions. Kapustin is exquisite. It makes pianists like myself humble to play these with respect.
