名作が多いカンサスのアルバムの中で本作こそ最高傑作だとするファンは多いはず。私も、詩・楽曲・演奏・音質などすべてにおいてハイレベルなバランスを見せる本作こそ、カンサスなら最初に聴いていただきたいアルバムであり、最高傑作だと言いたい。 次作の「暗黒への曳航」は本作があったからこそ、売上面で抜くことができたと思いますし、プログレッシブハードに恥じない音作りと（好みもありますが）楽曲では本作「永遠の序曲」が断然上だと思います。カンサスを初めて聴くならまずこのアルバムをお奨めします。
