This Ember

This first Album was created by Kate and Andy during 2.5 years of trans-atlantic music sessions. Andy living in Berlin, Germany was recording Keyboards, Guitars, Drums and Vocals to the Main-Vocals and Piano recordings that Kate submitted from Portland, Oregon. Bouncing the files over the internet back and forth, their creative process was taking place almost independently from each other - an experience that is very different to that of typical bands, where members often meet, jam and exchange spontaneously. The songs are centered around real life themes that played a role in both's life in one way or another during the process of writing the music and lyrics for this album: loss, love, faith and devotion. Many listeners compare Kady's music to 'Evanescence' (for electric-guitars meeting female voice) or 'Dido' (acoustic themes with synthetic drums, rather calm and balanced), however, none of both are what would be considered a role model or inspiration for the music of Kady. Coming from two very different cultural and music backgrounds - Kate born in Utah, raised in Texas while Andy was born in Cuba and raised in Germany - with the absence of physical presence, it was all up to the music to mix and become the synthesis.
