Two Hits For The Kitty: Sun Studio Sessions

This project is a live blues roots recording done at the famed Sun Recording Studio, Memphis, TN. The concept: To record in the style of early Howlin' Wolf, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Johnny Cash and other Sun Studios alumni. John Altenburgh wanted to capture the original Sun sound by recording live, using vintage instruments and capturing that classic echo off those old brick walls. John received an offer from Sun Studios to record after donating recording equipment to the Sun Studio museum. He jumped at the chance, and in April of 2005 brought the group down for an evening of recording. Features jazz tenor sax man John Greiner and Petrified Alien Brain Blues Band guitarist Chris O'Keefe.
