1971年発表、前作の『ジョンの魂』と並ぶ名作。ただ人類愛を歌ったM1の有名ぶりが、ジョン・レノンを”愛と平和の人”的な側面の強調に繋げているのが残念だ。そうした面も勿論ジョンの側面のひとつであるに違いないが、反戦や愛に真剣に取り組んだ彼には、同時に愛すべきロクデナシの面があった（貶める目的で言ってないことは分かりますよね？）。逆に言うとただ”愛と平和の人”扱いをする人の方が、彼のメッセージを矮小化して受け取っている。ジョンのソロは”自分の全てを晒す”ことを表現の第一義にしていたし、その上で聖もあり邪もあり、という地点で大きなスケールを獲得していた。
