Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Againというタイトルをよおーく見て買えばよかったのにと反省してます。 彼のアルバムはCCRからずっと買い続けていて土臭くスワンプな味わいもあるロックンロールが大好きなのです。彼自身がカントリーが大好きなのはわかっているのですが、個人的にはあまり魅力を感じられず、そこははずしたかったのですが、ついNew Albumということで買ってしまいました。 救いは大好きな曲であるGarden Partyのカバーが入っていたということかな。ロックンロールのアルバム早くだしてくれい！！

まずとても驚いたことは、あの３５年前のブルー・ライド・レンジャースの頃のジョンと声の質が変わってなく、全く声が歳をとってないことである。ハスキーボイスは歳をとらないのか、ジョンが若いのか、３５年前と今回を続けて聞いてもまるで同じ頃録音したかのようなのである。内容も基本的にはカントリーなので、続編というよりかは、同じアルバムという感じを受ける。オリジナルが７しかないのがちょっと寂しい気もしたし、ジョンはコンポーザーとしても素晴らしいミュージシャンなので、スタンダードを歌わなくてもいい気もしたけど、とにかくジョンはこの続編を作りたかったらしいので、まあファンとしてはお付き合いしましょうか、みたいな感じのアルバムでした。曲はなんといってもイーグルスのメンバーと歌う３がベスト。ブルース・スプリングスティーンとの１２もいい出来である。個人的には次はニール・ヤングと一緒にやってほしいかな（願・笑）。しばらくはこのアルバムを聞きながらアメリカにでもひたっていよう。
