CD reissue. Steppin' Out was recorded live during the North American leg of her To The Limit tour. Joan's superb bittersweet songs, blues mixed up with pop plus a bit of jazz and folk added proved she's definitely no one-hit wonder. Backed by an energetic band with Little Feat and Wet Willie members she performs great versions of 'Mama Mercy' with a killer saxophone solo from Earl Ron Price, a superb extended 'Cool Blue Stole My Heart', her hit-single 'Love And Affection' and 'Steppin' Out'. With 'You Rope You Tie Me' Joan proves that she can really rock and 'Tall In The Saddle' is a powerful closer, with a searing, unexpected guitar solo.
