First Love

James (JMZ) Mitchell was born James L. Douglas in Enid Oklahoma. Inspired by the Jackson 5, he began writing songs at the age of nine in Long Beach California. Relocating to Portland Oregon in 1972 and after graduating highschool, JMZ met his biological father and changed his name accordingly to James L Mitchell Jr. After many years of soul searching JMZ was reacquainted with the Lord Jesus Christ in 1989 while on lock down in the Multnomah County Detention Facility. Then being inspired by the gospel group commissioned and others he found the type of music that was expressing his unspoken spiritual feelings and emotions towards God. He began writing again in 2003 and began producing the First Love CD to express his appreciation for what God has done and is doing in his life....
