60年代後半から70年代にかけて活躍したヴォーカリスト、Jimmy Ruffin。1939年ミシシッピ州コリンズビル生まれの彼は61年にMotown傘下のMiracleレーベルと契約。その後64年に、脱退したOtis Bryantの替わりを探していたTemptationsに加入の誘いを受けるが、自らは固辞し代わりに実弟のDavid Ruffinを推薦した。その後のDavidの活躍は広く知られているが、Jimmy自身も66年にTop10ヒット'WhatBecomes Of the Broken Hearted?'をリリース。本国アメリカ以上にUKのファンから支持を受け、Edwin Starrと同じようにその後イギリスへ移住し、活動の拠点を移した。そんな彼の60年代中盤から70年代にかけて活躍した名シンガーの初期代表曲を中心にコンパイルしたベスト盤！
