If you close your eyes and listen to Jerral, his soulful flavor will take you back to the sounds of classic crooners like Teddy Pendergrass, Billy Paul and Marvin Gaye. Born in Lakewood, NJ, Jerral started singing at the tender age of 4 years old. Like most soul singers he developed his soulful baritone sound at his childhood church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hoboken, NJ. Although Jerral was comfortable and confident singing in front of his church family, as a freshman at the Newark School of Performing Arts, he was shy about singing in front of his peers. By his senior year he was extremely comfortable in his skill and performance abilities, participating in school musical productions and affectionately being referred to as 'the guy that's always singing.' Years later, Jerral became a member of the 'Tiffany Gospel Award' winning gospel acappella group, In-A-Way. As one of their standing members, Jerral sang on, recorded, co-produced, and co-engineered on their 2 CD projects 'Over and Over' and 'Friend 18:24.' Everywhere they toured Jerral's husky soulful sound, his vocal acrobatic runs and joy of singing would seem to naturally bring people to their feet. Jerral's first solo project since In-A-Way, 'For You,' is reminiscent of classic R&B with a creative blend of current trends. It's soulful, sexy, and will make you wanna get up and dance.
