A decidedly modest title for the lead single from the new album from one of the biggest female stars on the planet right now, 'Jenny From the Block' is Jennifer Lopez reminding the world of her roots ('Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got/ I used to have a little, now I have a lot/ But I'm still Jenny from the block'). She's never made a secret out of the fact she was once just a dancer from the Bronx and the 'This Is Me...Then' set is a further reminder that J.Lo isstill a girl from round the way, despite all the trappings that super-stardom brings. A good deal of the album deals with relationships: 'Dear Ben' is pretty self-explanatory and 'Perfect' finds La Lopez detailing her ideal man - "To me, you'll always be my lust, my love, my man, my child, my friend and my king". It's evident that this is a personal collection of observations made by an artist who has the world at her feet and the simple fact that Jennifer Lopez remains true to her past will go a long way to counter the rife accusations of diva-ism.
