Product Description

Digitally remastered edition of this 1970 album from the Jazz quartet. Wayne Henderson, along with childhood friends Wilton Felder, Joe Sample, and Nesbert Stix Hooper, formed the nucleus of the Jazz Crusaders in 1961. By fusing elements of jazz, funk, soul, R&B, rock, Latin, and gospel, an iridescent sound emerged with such impact that a musical revolution was unearthed. At the close of the decade, they recorded a one off album for Liberty Records. Give Peace a Chance saw the quartet move in a more soulful direction than on early albums. Amongst their own compositions was an amazing Funky workout of Roy Hawkins' 'The Thrill Is Gone' as well as the Lennon/McCartney tunes 'Give Peace a Chance' and 'Black Bird'. BBR is very proud to announce the international CD debut of this album complete with brand new liner notes by Discussions Magazine's Stephen SPAZ Schnee and remastered sound. It is a must for all Jazz Fusion, Soul and Funk fans out there.
