Inspirations

Inspirations was a very special recording for me, debuting my first album and first original compositions. All of the tunes were written for prolific figures in my life, and I titled the compositions specifically for those people. Throughout my youth, my mother was always my source of integrity. She never gave up on instilling a sense of right and wrong in me, and to this day she is still guiding my conscience. My father worked over seas my entire childhood, and was not around much. Recognizing the sacrifice he made for his family inspired me, and I named the tune for my father 'Sacrifice'. My sister would struggle to stay on her feet when life kept knocking her down, and I always admired that after she would get knocked down she would always get back up; her Perseverance was admirable. My late brother John had so much faith in what ever it was he believed in that he would go to war for what he believed in, no matter if it were right or wrong. In the composition, 'Faith', you can hear John's struggle in the bass melody, and his rising ascension to peace as the melody drives to the end. Two of My most influential teachers are recognized in the albums title track, 'Inspirations', due to their influence on my character. Always providing insight and wisdom, Dale and J.C. were major factors in my up bringing. Alexis played a huge role in supporting my dreams, and it is something I will never forget. All of these people influenced me so much, and writing for them was the only way I could think of to recognize them for what they have done for me. I could not be more thankful for these people.
