ジャニスの完全未発表幻のライヴ音源が発見、公式リリース！

1968年6月23日サンフランシスコの伝説のThe Carousel BallroomでのBig Brother and the Holding Companyとしての熱狂のライヴ。
この時ジャニスは25歳。
前年1967年6月にモントレー・ポップ・フェスティヴァルの熱演でジャニスの名は決定的なものになり、1968年4月に『チープ・スリル』録音、9月発売…その合間となる時期のライヴということでまさに鬼気迫るパフォーマンスを見せていた絶頂期。

“Bear”の異名を持つ伝説のサウンドマン、オウズリー・スタンリー（グレイトフル・デッド他）によって録音されたもので、本作のマスタリングもベアーが自ら監修。

「荒削りのマジック。炸裂するシナジー。アーティストとオーディエンスを隔てる境界線が打破されてゆく危険なスリル…。いかに自然体の猛威をふるったかを証言している。解散のわずか2ヶ月前、全盛期における彼らの姿をとらえたこの録音が存在すること自体幸運なことである。あの最強かつ歴史的なペアの、数少ない生の記録のひとつなのだから」
