３０年以上も前のことなのだが、ジャニス・イアンのBetween　The　Lines（邦題は愛の回想録）は職場のわたしより少し年下の同僚（女性）がこのLPを持っていて、数日間、彼女から借りて聴いていた。とても気にいったのだけれど、LPを買うまでには至らなかった。でも最近廉価盤として再発売されていたCDを見つけて購入。改めて聴いてみると、なんて素晴らしいんだろうと思った。スローテンポの美しい旋律にのって、切々と歌う彼女に心から共感できる。すべてがいい曲ですが、大ヒットしたAt　Seventeen（１７才の頃）はもとより、Between　The　Lines（愛の回想録）Light　A　Light、（灯りをください）Lover’s　Lullaby（愛する人の子守唄）がとくにお気に入りです。もっと多くの人にこの素晴らしいアルバムを聴いてもらいたいですね。絶対にお勧めです。
