Now up to album number squillion, there are many things that are remarkable about Jay Kaye (car crash survivals, girlfriend traumas, titfer troubles) but his boundless energy must come pretty near the top. Led by the 'Little L' single, the 'A Funk Odyssey' album finds the Cat in the Hat sprinting into 2001 at full pelt, armed to the teeth with a brand new set of disco-delic floorfillers. 踊れる。 聴きやすい。 が、それだけ。 ＪＫが新しいものを求めているのはわかるが、イマイチ魂がこもっていない感じがする。 アルバムそのものの出来は平均水準以上だが、Jamiroquaiの作品であることを考慮すると、不満が残る。

前作までの独特なｼﾞｬｰｼﾞｰの音は消えﾃﾞｼﾞﾀﾙ度が大幅に増えたﾃﾞｨｽｺ調な5作目｡ﾌｧﾝｷｰさは年々､ﾊﾟﾜｰｱｯﾌﾟしてて今作はﾎﾞｻﾉﾊﾞ､ﾉｲｼﾞｰなｷﾞﾀｰな曲調のﾓﾉも展開している｡美しい曲調のﾓﾉではｼﾞｪｲの歌の巧さが一層引き立ちます｡
