Product Description

Setting the tone for the entire album, 'new year' is the perfect introduction to J13Satori's 'pro-jekt'. Purposeful beats and a driving rhythm are layered beautifully over deep bass stutters and harmonic instrumentals. As 'new year' has a soft fade out into nothingness, 'forward' is immediately thrust upon you with a growling/scratching introduction that heralds an echoing vocal before shifting into a sick breakbeat with impressive panning effects. An ethereal overlay adds a trance feel to the driving tempo that creates a synergy between the chill and the drive that is unparalleled. A soothing instrumental atmospheric lullaby drifts you out into peacefulness before introducing the tornadoes. 'Epic tornado one' is emphasized with a lo-fi static record player feel over fx reminiscent of decades-old modem technology that merges into modern electronic blips and pans with percussion layers over sketchy rhythms and a fluttering piano line. Leading into 'epic tornado two', a haunting reverb effect introduces more electronic blips along with a shuddering and throbbing percussion line that creates the most forceful and driving pulse of the album. Rounding out the trilogy is 'epic tornado three' with droning winds and atmospheric harmonics that filter in and crescendo into a whirlwind of questioning bass line and swirling atmospheres. After an answering bass line has it's turn, the two combine into an impressive overlay that continues throughout the song. A kick drum and a reverberating synth add depth into the driving beat and delicately created but forceful sounding percussion melody. Stereo glitches bounce back and forth lulling you into a calm after the storm before bringing back that last round of thunder before you finally hear the droning winds fade away. Providing the counterpoint for this album 'jakobs nontornado' is created with a flawless beat, floating atmospherics and harmonic electronic blips. A tripping percussion beat drives the song with a kick drum as bouncing atmospherics and precisely dropped fx slowly fade the tracks out. 'Sophistication' is perfectly introduced with a masterful use of stereo panning and dancing tones that make complete and total use of the stereo field. A kick drum is introduced and a delicate piano line carries the melody along to the driving rhythm. Stray beats that are seamlessly integrated with sub-bass inserts and layers weave into the floating piano line that lead you away as the dancing tones fade into the distance. 'Recover' blissfully closes the album with it's droning, dissonant touches that swirl into a heavy kick drum and sprinkles of percussion. A chill melody overlay moves forward into a driving breakbeat, mixed seamlessly layer upon layer, as it pulls back into an atmospheric groove and calms itself with a muffled kick drum and percussion tones. It spontaneously grabs you back for one last energizing boost before fading out with a chill melody. Meant to be played as loud as you (and your neighbors) can stand it on a good stereo system, 'pro-jekt' is even more appreciated with a good pair of headphones that allow you to hear the subtle layers and textures that make up the clever stereo effects and immersion into this aural landscape.
