Jamal Aleem was the founder, lead singer and songwriter for 'Incense,' a talented, San Francisco Bay Area group founded in the late 60's. They had a tremendous original sound and following, performing from 1969 until 1977, while under contract with Warner Brother Records. 'Incense' had an explosive stage presence, and toured with Lakeside, Graham Central Station, Confunkshun, and The Stairsteps to name a few. The unique 'Incense' sound grew out of Jamal Aleem's experiences and musical vision.
