Ian Hendrickson-Smith is best known for his work with various soul groups including Amy Winehouse, Sharon Jones, The Dap Kings and Hot Pants. However, he is a profound jazz musician in the vein of Eddie Harris. This live date is seriously groovy. The Amy Winehouse cover, Love Is A Losing Game, is worth the price of the disc alone. Pianist Rick Germanson, from the Pat Martino band, is a standout on this recording.
