ハンコックのブルーノートにおける最も「端正」な作品。後年における器用な活躍からしてもハンコックがかなりの分野で研究をしていたことは想像されるが、ここではデキスター・ゴードンという「前の時代の」大物と、当時は大きな期待をもって見られていた次の時代のフレディ・ハバードをフロントに据えたところに「意外な」商売人でありなおかつ世渡り上手な面が見え隠れする。
