Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets

After his first year of adventures at Hogwarts, Harry returns to the inhospitable world of his Aunt and Uncle for the long Summer holiday, though it's no holiday for Harry. He's been moved from the cupboard under the stairs to his own room and the bars on the window mean he's not going anywhere quickly. Escape comes in the form of his best pal, Ron Weasley, and his fathers flying car, a late night rescue frees Harry from his prison and sets him off on another adventure. After a short break at the Weasly's house Harry heads off back to Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry, to find that strange things are afoot in the school. Pupils are mysteriously being struck down in the hallways, Harry is hearing a strange voice in his head, talk of an ancient evil fills the school and Drako Malfoy, Harry's arch enemy, seems intent on causing as much trouble for everyone as possible.

Once again helmed by director Christopher Columbus 'Chamber Of Secrets' is an outstanding adaptation of the book, part funny and moving but also darker than the first with plenty of scares and thrills. New to the cast are Kenneth Branaghas the pompous and vain new Defence Of The Dark Arts teacher Gilderoy Lockhart, a role he obviously relishes playing, while Jason Isaacs excels as the menacing and evil Lucius Mallfoy.
