ヘンデル：ドラマティック・カンタータ「アポロとダフネ」/付随音楽「錬金術師」(ヘンデルの歌劇「ロドリーゴ」より作者不詳の編曲) オルガ・パシェチュニク(S)/ロベルト・ポマコフ(Bs)/ロイ・グッドマン指揮/ヨーロッパ連合バロック管弦楽団「メサイア」などの有名曲を聴き終えて既にヘンデル・ファンになった貴方に是非お聴きいただきたい名盤の登場です。美しいダフネに神アポロは夢中になるが、嫌がるダフネは姿を月桂樹に変えて抵抗、アポロは悲痛なアリアを歌う。作曲者が20代半ばで完成させたカンタータ「アポロとダフネ」は、録音も少なく知名度も低いものの、既にアリアの魅力は全開、ヘンデルを聴く醍醐味は十分です。当盤では歌手の美声も長所。オリジナルの序曲は紛失され、ここでは同時期の合奏協奏曲で代用しました。「錬金術師」の方には声楽は入りませんが、音楽の活力はそんじょそこらの作曲家とは違います。
