HEAD PHONE PRESIDENT (HPP) is a Japanese Heavy Rock/Metal band that distinctively stands out among many others in the genre, and has been spreading their name throughout the music scene in and out of Japan. The front-woman, Anza, delivers beautiful yet painfully intense emotions, and with the raging heaviness and groove their stage performance is really overwhelming. The presence and dynamism of their music, combining tribal rhythm, beautiful melodies and raw emotions should surely blow listeners mind. HPP was born in 1999 centered around Anza and brothers Hiro and Mar (both on guitar). The first maxi-single 'escapism' released in December 2000 marked the number 1 position in the single chart of Tower Records Shibuya within 3 days of it went on sale. Moreover, they drew more than 300 people to the in-store live appearance on the date of release, something extraordinary for a debut of an independent band. Having released 3 maxi-singles, 2 EPs, 2 full-length albums and 2 DVDs to date, HPP has toured throughout Japan and played various festivals including 'LOUD PARK 08', 'ROCKSTAR TASTE OF CHAOS', 'INDEPENDENCE-D 07' and headlining appearance at 'ADDICT XX', sharing the stage with the likes of STORY OF THE YEAR, IN THIS MOMENT, SLIPKNOT and MUCC. Due to popular demands from fans, they have also toured the US, Sweden, Australia and Asian countries. Their long-waited new album 'Prodigium' is mastered at West West Side Music by Alan Douches (THE AGONIST, MASTODON etc).
