1991年11月3日サンフランシスコのゴールデン・ゲイトパークで行なわれたビル・グレアム追悼フリー・コンサート「ラフター・ラヴ＆ミュージック（笑いと愛と音楽と）」。1965年に、西海岸サイケデリック/フラワー・ムーヴメントの拠点フィルモア・オーディトリアムを立ち上げ、時代をリードした伝説のプロモーター（であり経営者）、ビルは同年10月25日に不慮の事故でこの世を去った。

50万人もの聴衆が集まったこの追悼集会には、CSN&Y、グレイトフル・デッド、サンタナ、ジャクソン・ブラウン、アーロン・ネヴィル、ジョーン・バエズらが出演。60〜70年代のロック・カルチャーを創生した男の偉業に敬意を表し、愛を捧げた。

本盤は、同コンサートのグレイトフル・デッドのステージを2CDに完全収録。ジョン・フォガティをスペシャルゲストに迎えたCCR曲、アンコールではニール・ヤングを交えてボブ・ディランの「いつまでも若く」を披露している。
