Product Description

She has taken a mix of rhythm and blues and added a spice of southern sultry spunk. Her journey thus far has been a mix of character, music and the art of life to create Gina Gee. Gina began singing at an early age while growing up in tiny Rosston, Arkansas -population 292. Coming from a musical family, it was obvious that Gina's voice wasn't made from scratch. Her mother played the piano and sang in a local gospel group. Some of her uncles were members of a quartet group. Although music was imprinted in Gina at a young age, she yearned for another way to express her words. She studied broadcast journalism at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where she earned a BA degree with honors. Gina put her degree to use by working as a reporter for a local newspaper and radio station. To her surprise, her journalism career led her into the music industry. While working at a radio station, she was introduced to a local rapper. That connection kept her busy in Little Rock recording studios as more rappers discovered Gina's sultry flair to sing hooks. One rapper considered her as 'The Female Nate Dogg of Little Rock.' As Gina's vocals became more in demand, her love for singing music began to grow. Without regret, she quit her job at the radio station and decided to pursue her aspirations to become an R&B recording artist. After saying goodbye to her career as a journalist, Gina spent 5 years performing as a female vocalist for a Little Rock rapper and his band. During her tenure with the band, she performed at various venues, opened for national recording artists, received media attention, and gained a large fan following in her home state. Being a hook girl and female vocalist of a band was enjoyable and a great stepping stone for Gina, but it simply wasn't enough. Still yearning for another way to express her words and be heard even more, she decided to record an album. Her highly anticipated debut album entitled Evolution of a Woman was executive produced by Dondrae Ferocious Vinson of Ferocious Productions. The project is personal, yet inspired by women-the ups and downs they experience in life, specifically while in romantic relationships, and how those ups and downs make them stronger thus evolve over time.
