ギル・メレ（1931年12月31日～2004年10月28日）はアメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州リヴァーサイド生まれのジャズ・バリトンサックス奏者、美術家、作曲家。アルバムは1956年ブルーノートの録音で美術がそのままジャズになった錯覚をおぼえる。それもそのはず本職は1950年にニューヨークの画廊で自作の彫刻や絵画を展示していた芸術家である。共演者はトロンボーンがエディ・ハート、ギターがジョー・シンデレラ、ベースがオスカー・ペティフォード、ドラムがエド・シグペン。内容は一般的なブルーノート・サウンドとは異なり上質な室内音楽を聴いているようで癒される。ジャケットデザインはギル・メレではなくグラフィックデザイナーのリード・マイルスであった。
