発売当初これほど大ヒットし、シングルカットのヒットが生まれるとは思ってませんでした！カリスマシンガーのガブリエルが抜けた後の、商業的にも作品評価も得た名作！当時はジェネシスメンバーの作品がチャートを賑わし嬉しかったです！ピーター・ガブリエルの『Ｓｏ』、マイク・ラザフォードの『Ｍｉｋｅ　＆　Ｔｈｅ　メカニクス』も併せて聞いて欲しいですね！

後期genesisは、Phil colins中心のポップバンドと思っている人が多いと思いますが、正確には違います。このアルバムは、極上のポップソングもありますが、(invisible touchなど)組曲形式の曲もあるし、tonight tonight tonightのような長い曲もあるし、ラストの曲は各楽器の激しい演奏が聞けるインスト曲です。プログレッシブな曲と、ポップソングが同居している大傑作だと思います。
