Things We Said

This second release by Gary Bernardini, 'Things We Said' follows up his first CD 'Anticipating Paradise' along similar style - acoustic rock songs documenting real-life drama of relationships and everyday life. The great instrumentation includes clavinet, Hammond B3 organ, synth-rhythms adding to the flavor of this CD. In addition, his singer-daughter adds some sweet high-harmonies to the mix. The songs are melodic and vary in style from straight-ahead acoustic rock to a latin-based number with driving percussion and nylon string guitars. The last song on the CD 'Twenty Years' tells the story of running into an old flame with flood of memories, but the song's ending evokes a haunting and somewhat disturbing state reflecting chaos of everyday life.
