Product Description

Limited UK two CD pressing includes the bonus CD, Blood, which is a dub version of the main album. 2009 release, the third album from Glasgow-based modern rockers. Tonight: Franz Ferdinand sees them taking a step back from the Post-Punk revival sounds that gave them their breakthrough. With Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, the band are seen to incorporate more disparate influences such as Jamaican Dub and elements of Electronica. What remains of the old Franz Ferdinand is their knack for locating a danceable rhythm and their gentle, deadpan humor. The choice of Dan Carey as producer is in keeping with this new direction, the past credits of whose include CSS and Hot Chip.

今までの「踊れるロックンロール」とは違う、ポップさともかけ離れた大人でビターな「夜のロックンロール」爆発力のあるキラーチューンはないのでライブ向きのアルバムではないが、家でじっくり聞き込みたい１枚。サマソニ楽しみだ！

2004年のデビュー作リリース当時、初めて聴いた時、すぐに良いと感じた。そして2006年2月10日の武道館ライヴでさらに夢中になった。そして3年…。3rdのリリースを経て見たZEPP TOKYOでのライヴでのレベルアップには驚愕した。マジで2008年に行ったサマソニのライヴ全て合わせてもかなわないくらい楽しかった。それにしても｢トゥナイト｣は内容良すぎ!｢トゥナイト｣で、彼らはベックやフレーミング･リップスみたいな、セールスに左右されずに、ただひたすら自らの道を追求するアーティストに進化したのだ!
