フリートウッド・マックの1973年度作『ペンギン』。ダニー・カーワンが脱退し、ボブ・ウェストンとデイヴ・ウォーカーが加入。元サヴォイ・ブラウンのデイヴの加入は、前作までの問題であったヴォーカル強化のためとも言われている。こうして問題解消を経たかに見えたマックだが、ここでは新たに音楽的な方向性の迷いという問題が出てきてしまっている。

プロデュースがマーティンバーチでボーカル...

プロデュースがマーティンバーチでボーカルがサバスに一瞬加入した人という興味本位も手伝って今更ながら聴いてみましたが、結構いい感じです。ただ馴染みがあるせいか、クリスティンの歌声に心地良さを感じ、デイヴが歌うと別のバンドの様に聴こえます。好きだけど。

デイブ･ウォーカーの加入は賛否両論あるのだけれど、「Derelict」は好きな曲です。 前2作ではいまひとつパッとしなかったクリスティンのポップセンスが花開きつつあるのも見逃せない。
