抒情に満ちた美しい音楽を数多く作曲した近代フランスの巨匠フォーレの作品集。静謐感が全編を支配し、詩情に溢れたフォーレの《レクイエム》はフランス宗教音楽の傑作としてあまりにも有名です。ジュリーニが天上の至福を気品高く謳いあげています。また〈シシリエンヌ〉で名高い《ペレアスとメリザンド》と、合唱付きの《パヴァーヌ》といった管弦楽の名品を、小澤征爾が色彩豊かに洗練された演奏で聴かせます。

ジュリーニのフォーレについて 重厚で噛...

ジュリーニのフォーレについて 重厚で噛んで含めるような演奏です。私のようなジュリーニファンにはうれしい演奏ですが、従来のイメージと違うことに違和感を感じられる方も多いでしょうね。 録音は優秀です。

フォーレのレクイエムは天国を感じなくてはならない。 ミシェル・コルボの新旧盤を数十回聴いている。 ジュリーニは好きな指揮者の一人である。 しかし、フォーレが実に重々しい。ブルックナーを聴いているようだ。

レクイエムの異演盤を漁っていたときに購入。ジュリーニの解釈はとても美しい。偏に宗教性が出ていないというのか、粘っこさがなくてストレートに曲の甘美さ透明感が現れている。このCDではないが小澤／BSOもレクイエムを録音していて、それはもう少し宗教性に拘っている印象だが、どちらも同曲のone of the best となりうる名演だと思う。惜しむらくはオーケストラか。ジュリーニの演奏もBSOだったらよかったのに。
