Mollow

The melancholic music on this debut album is built from jazz molecules such as improvisations and processed big band horns, sometimes mixed with a blues guitar or a banjo. It's built on a rhythmic fundament mostly inspired by hiphop and electronica. The album is produced by Jakob Norgren, partly in cooperation with Herbert Nordlund. Jakob has previously released three albums with his orchestra Big Band Splash and samples from those albums are an important ingredient in the sound of The Emersons. This album is dedicated to Herbert Nordlund who tragically passed away last year. His expressive alto sax and clarinet characterizes many of the tracks.
