　のだめカンタービレ最終楽章前編で、のだめと千秋が、夜、シテ島ヴェールガラン公園のベンチに座り、「調和」について話すシーンがありました。そのとき流れていた曲が、エニグマ変奏曲第９変奏のニムロッドです。 　エニグマ変奏曲はエルガーの代表作で、管弦楽のための変奏曲としても重要な作品だそうです。エニグマとは「謎かけ」「謎とき」という意味で、各変奏は友人たちの肖像となっています。 　このＣＤには、「弦楽のためのセレナード」と序曲「南国にて」、そして「威風堂々」第１番もカップリングされていてお得です。どの曲も素晴らしく、何度も繰り返し聴いています。フィルハーモニア管弦楽団の演奏は心地よく全く飽きません。価格もお得なのでお薦めです。
