Elk Cityはニューヨークのアート・ポップ・バンドで、1997年にRenee LoBueを中心に結成された。2000年にデビュー・アルバム『Status』
をリリース。その後、メンバーを変更しながらも、『Hold Tight the Ropes』（2002年）、『New Believers』（2007年）、『House of Tongues』（2010年）と計4枚のアルバムをリリースしている。当『Everybody’s Insecure』は自身5枚目のアルバムとなる。実に8年振りとなる新作
で、Lunaのギタリスト、Sean Edenがフィーチャーされている。
