Mississippi Bound

A hard rockin', Delta blues inspired singer/songwriter, Droo delivers an extra edge to the traditional blues by combining his background in rock, funk, metal and pop. His heart is rock and roll, while his soul screams the blues. Together he brings a deep connection to his latest album, Mississippi Bound. Droo describes the album as, music to feed your soul. Originally from Maryland and Virginia, Droo's love for music began as a kid, listening to his father play bluegrass jams late at night. Unable to sleep, he began to feel the music and picked up an old hand-me-down guitar. A few years later Droo started the band Navel, in which he was the singer and bassist, with his brother Wally. Droo became well known for his bass playing in Virginia. He played hard and fast, and soon found himself on a road trip to Los Angeles playing bass for several bands, recording and performing at every notable venue in the city. Droo needed more though, more of a creative outlet. He walked by a pawn shop that had a beat up old resonator hanging in the window. With the few dollars he had left from his move out to Los Angeles, he bought the guitar and began writing songs. With a slide in one hand and an open tuned guitar in the other, he played the blues and went back to his roots. Mississippi Bound was written, performed and produced by Droo. His sweat was poured into this album and you can feel each word that is sung. It is raw, it is real, it evokes his struggles, his journey, his love and heartbreak.
