From the epic title track to the fist-pumping closer, the guitar pyrotechnics of herman li and sam totman light up the sky like a third world war. Vocalist zp theart has no qualms about emulating heroes like bruce dickinson (iron maiden) and michael kiske (helloween), but his lupine howls have a character all their own. DragonForce plays faster than most bands in the genre - at the time they were hailed as the first speed metal pop group - but the production is precision-tuned and never muddy, allowing the giant slade and andrew w.k.-style choruses the room they need to explode.

今作購入してからもう半年ほど経ちますが、...

今作購入してからもう半年ほど経ちますが、全く飽きません！メロスピ系統は割かし飽きが早いので、Dragonforceは全くの別物なのでしょうか..。私にとっては、演奏陣、Ｖｏ、雰囲気、楽曲どれも最高以上で、噛めば噛むほど味の出る“スルメバンド”ですね。速さが取り柄とは言われつつも、StarFireはスローテンポにも関わらずとんでもない名曲に仕上がってます。人生最後の日に聴くアルバムはこれに決定！！！

…彼らの音楽は､非常にｲﾝﾊﾟｸﾄが強いですし､そう簡単に真似できるものではないですね｡ﾃｸﾆｯｸはともかくとして､人間離れした体力と超高速演奏に関しては誰もが認めるところでしょうし､ｽﾋﾟｰﾄﾞとﾒﾛﾃﾞｨｱｽさの限界に挑むかのような楽曲群…しかもｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ中ほとんどがｷﾗｰﾁｭｰﾝという前代未聞の構成｡安直ですが､潔いですし非常に個性的なので素直に評価して良いのではないでしょうか…?彼らはﾒﾛｽﾋﾟ界においては｢優等生｣というよりはむしろ｢異端児｣といった感じですね｡もちろん批判されることも多いでしょうが、AngraやKamelotのような優等生バンドにはない魅力を感じますね。
