Product Description

Digitally remastered two CD set containing the final two albums by The Doors, both recorded and released as a trio after the death of lead vocalist Jim Morrison - Other Voices (1971) and Full Circle (1972). The Full Circle CD includes a rare bonus track, 'Treetrunk', which was the B-side to the 1972 'Get Up And Dance' single. The track has only been previously available on the original 7 single, and a Japanese-only CD singles box set.

1971年7月の Jim Morrison 急死を受け、解散という選択をせず、Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore による The Doors が、同年10月にリリースしたアルバム「OTHER VOICES」と、翌年7月にリリースしたアルバム「FULL CIRCLE」との2枚組CDです。CD化にあたって「FULL CIRCLE」には、シングル「Get Up And Dance」のB面曲「TREE TRUNK」が追加収録されています。ヴァラエティに富んだ曲調、緻密な演奏、Ray Manzarek と Robby Krieger の唄に、「後家の頑張り」的なものを強く感じ、作品としては悪くない出来だと思いますが、現実は厳しく（「FULL CIRCLE」は、同年にリリースされた The Doors のコンピレーション盤「Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine」よりも売れ行きが悪かったようです）、商業的には失敗に終わり、結局、The Doors は解散してしまいます。このように不遇な2枚のアルバムは、長い間入手困難で、The Doors のラスト・アルバムは「L.A.WOMAN」のような感じがしていたところに、CD化という英断をなさった RHINO（付属のブックレットも14頁と充実）に感謝したい。
